Mike, I can relate. It has been a long winter and both of my dogs are still down south (two months of training with a pro).
I miss them! At almost 80 years old.....I am not going anywhere ("hunkered down"). When they get back, It will be busier.

I have done something kind of like what you are doing - went back in time to my old Website and reviewed many photos
and several story links. Remembering at my age requires refreshing. Planning to not forget was the approach. Good times
from the past have not been lost.

When reviewing, things were easier then (or not). Here are a couple of "mind joggers".

    We're hunkered down too.

But we live in the sticks surrounded by mixed farmland, woods and hedgerows with a decent trout river 200 yards away (which currently looks like the Amazon on a bad day). Yesterday I dusted off the SxS, climbed over the fence and toddled around for a couple of hours. Three wood pigeon and a brace of rabbits have now been converted into a small game casserole and a roasted mustard / cream / honey rabbit. The dozy out of season cock pheasant was allowed to go on his way but this may not last.

Much more fun than the supermarket which we're not going to anyway.

I've been watching a lot of the old boxing videos on Youtube ... loving' it.

I really enjoyed your pics.. Big river Hunts.. WOW! I'm only used to the South Platte, whick is a creek comparativly.. New location is beaver ponds..

Your story is amusing! It reminded me of a similar one of mine,,but the end result was quite different.. After the tests,,and the closet deal they shut you in and take pictures,,The Doctor camme in with a look of bewilderment on his face as said to me

" If I didnt know better, Id swear you have a Uterus"

I told him,, if he let that get out,, I d sue the everlivinshitouta him..

    Take care of yourself.. Jim...

We have been sent home from school for a month. Haven't tied flies in a few years. I think I may get my vise out of the garage and tie some PT nymphs. Thanks for the inspiration!

Mike, those are great trout pics and i love the new home! I'm inspired.
Eug, great story of game to the oven! I'm thawing.
Jim, the diver pics are super, get a bigger boat at 80! I'm thawing dabblers though.
Dave, get out your tying gear and send me 5 bead head #12 anythings! The crackers will be bedding in a week or two.

Gooser your wood work pics from the past also inspired me to do another project/gift for a duck hunting buddy who invites me to his green timber place whenever I want to go. He bought a big farm down in Boligee a couple of years back and calls it "Farm FF" because those are his initials, F.F.

When i went to see his "new digs" summer before last, I asked to cut a piece of "osage orange", "hedge apple" or "bois d'arch" with his chainsaw from an ancient(for us about 90 years eug) hedge. I gave the excuse that i was gonna make Mrs Sherry a walking stick or some such nonsense.

Anyway, i made him a duck call(Cary Sadler acrylic stopper) and "presentation box".

Not certain why my pics are sideways, just tilt your noggin a bit gooser.

Add a bead to those Pheasant Tails! Your Heads will never look bulky again,,and it helps get them tiney flies down to where Moby Dick lives ..

I have only ever tied on a Thompson "A" vise (A cheap copy of that too) Only vice I have ever had. Given to me as a gift when I was 14..
Last year I bout a Rotary!

When I tie now, its amazing how I get thread wrapped around everything!
I chinch up a half hitch yesterday,,and pulled my 30 power glasses of my face..

    Tight lines!
