Below are a couple of shots of my old man on a duck hunt a couple of days ago. He's the guy that gave me the love and respect for the outdoors. He showed me through the years how to teach that love and respect to others. Now that fire burns strong in my son (14). My buddies and I built the blind he is sitting in so he could hunt more comfortably. I couldn't be there. I had to work. At 70 years old there is still not a drop of quit in him and blind or no blind he would have been there anyway. If I want to talk to him I have to call before daylight otherwise he is out of the house doing his "chores" and won't be back in the house until God knows when. We forced a cell phone on him a few years back which he only uses when tortured to do so. The Internet is that thing in the corner that everybody uses and seems all jazzed up about so he will never see this. I'm off today but after my 1st cup of coffee and seeing these pics from my buddy in my email, the 1st cup of coffee tasted like a second and I felt more like thinking than hunting. I just wanted to share a little about the man that started it all for me. Tomorrow I will hunt and I'll feel that feeling that only the outdoors can give me but today I just felt like saying thanks Pop.
