I heard the sad news that Amy Hunt's AFC Sureshot's Little Party Girl - Crash passed away earlier this morning doing what she loved to do most, picking up birds. Ed Krueger tells me that she came out of the truck happy and ready to go as usual, running hard to a bird and within 40 yards of the mark her heart gave out.

In her career Crash earned 5 points toward her FC with a win at Cimarron Retriever Club the weekend of 9/17/2004. She earned 26.5 AFC points, earning an Amateur win at Fort Collins Retriever Club the weekend of 8/3/2007. Crash retired from field trials after running and receiving a JAM at North Dakota Retriever Club, the weekend of 6/5/2009.

Crash was bred to FC/AFC High Tech CEO three times.

Damn. What a shock. My heart goes out to Amy. She is a wonderful woman and Crash was an amazing dog. They were both very fortunate to have each other. My deepest condolences, Amy.

When we were looking for a new pup, I knew that I wanted one out of a great momma and when Amy's Crash x Gates litter came along (litter #2 of 3 breedings to Gates), we jumped at the opportunity. We had first pick of the 2 males and ended up taking Atlas over the other male in the litter (who ended up as FC AFC and a National finalist, Tyson). Never could I have imagined a better dog than what I have in Atlas (pictured in my avatar).

I will be giving him a lot of extra attention tonight in memory of his sweet mother, Crash.

God speed, Crash. I'm sure you front footed the remainder of that last mark on the other side.
