Yes, an unregistered dog can get an Indefinite Listing Priviledge from the AKC that will allow the dog to participate in companion and performance events. There must be good reason to believe that the dog is purebred and and the dog must be spayed/neutered.

You can run unregisterd in HRC if you are just testing the water to see if you like HT. You would have 60 days after the event to become registerd in order to make your points count if/when you pass.
