It seems like every time i start training again, I get bogged down at work, or something comes up. Just haven't been able to gain any momentum in training. I have cut my expectations in running both Master and Finished this Fall, and will only run Finished- work is hectic as ever.

In getting back into training again, basically reintroducing advanced concepts, how do you guys ease back in? For those amateur weekend warriors, how do you take a (albeit a very talented 4 year old, through basics and into advanced training) 'couch potato' from snoozing all day back to top form?

Drills first (which ones), marks first (how would you increase complexity), or yard work (please not too much of this :D)?

I feel like its been so long (about 4 months) since we trained, I've lost my touch.

I know it may be a long road to hoe, but you gotta start somewhere, right ;-)

I go through this every year at the end of duck season. Dogs get sloppy because the only marks and blinds are in hunting situations. My standards relax and it is like starting over every February.

I start with wagon wheel lining drills. Then move to key relationship drills and cheating singles. I use a lot of walking baseball and stand alones also. When all of that is solid, I move to lots of singles off of multiple guns. For HRC bucket drills are always needed.

Im dont know much, and am in the same situation. Havent trained all winter, except for Saaturdays. Now the past few weeks have been heck and 3 more weeks to go.
On the plus side I went to trainin day Saturday and my dogs looked like they knew what they were doing.
Ive been so frustrated in the evenings, have just to decided not to train when Im in those moods. I just put collars on and let them out and be dogs.

When I start at the first of the season, I usually start with DT (basic and advanced) and lining drills. Next I do marks usually with the lining drills where you run the blind first then the mark. I will also do swim by. WW for the team idea between My dog and I. Every day even if working I try to get him out even if it means only 10-20 minutes or so! Good Luck!
