Has anyone tried the Helical Whip Antennas by Elsema for the 212E recievers. I currently have the 3' of cable for antenna with sporadic success past 50 yards? If so do you use the pre grounded one or other one? thanks

I use the 40cm antenna from Elsema (ANT27S). It works very well out to 200+ yards in combination with the FMT-404 high power transmitter as long as the antenna mounting socket (SO 239) is grounded back to the negative circuit and the antenna is mounted so that it is away from the steel frame of your winger.

I haven't tried the longer ones as I haven't seen the need and they are more likely to get in the way.

Regards, Jason.

I use speaker wire. I found that about 5' of speaker wire works much better than 3'. The end of the wire is connected to a little alligator clamp. I clamp this to the top of my winger (aluminum homemade ZW knockoff). The slack just hangs down the side of the winger. When done training I wind the wire around the reciever and clamp it snug.

I have used this on marks out to 300yrds with no problems.

Thanks guys, i bought a 5'-1" PVC pipe, 16 gauge speaker and a trailer light quick disconnect plug. I spiral the wire around PVC. Put the quick connect near the receiver ( that way i can seperate my Train Rite Bumper stand from Antenna pole for hauling). it works great out to 200 yards. Thats as far as I have tested it. I also can point the transmitter 45 degrees off from reciever at 200 yards and it stills picks it up.. man ole Man this really helped. Thanks again
