I believe that is a complex with the ER.
I've only been there for eyes once and have not used the ER or specialists. I prefer the Animal Eye Clinic in Green Bay 2 hours away and ended up going there anyway because the reading was not correct.

Yeah sometimes pretty doesn't mean squat... There are a couple of really nice places in Atlanta for CERF, but I hate going there even though they're close... The place I go is over 2 hrs up near UGA. In an old victorian house. :)

Same here... You would think it's because of convenience since I live in Green Bay but I know of people across the county that make a point of seeing Samuel J. Vanisi, DVM or Gretchen M. Schmidt, DVM. I highly recommend the clinic. Eyes are all they do. When I had my first dog (12 years ago) I wanted to get his eye’s checked so I called Mary Howley and asked her who she used. I figured this was going to involve a significant road trip. She laughed and told me one of the best eye vets in the country was practically a neighbor of mine. Been using Animal Eye Clinic ever since.

Are you looking for a eye's specialist or just a general vet while your visiting? Or am I rambling on about nothing because you just wanted to know about wivrc?

Nancy,

The Animal Eye Specialties eye clinic is not in that Referral Center any longer. Animal Eye Specialties have moved down the road on Capital Dr.

There is a ACVO that worked with Sam and has since moved to this Clinic when Sam moved from IL. to Northern WI. Her name is "Stephanie Beaumont". Besides Dr. Collins, this is who I prefer to see.

But you are correct about Dr. Sam. He is one of the best in the country, hands down. I would go to him imeadiately should I need a 2nd opinion (had to only one time). Just wish he was closer and not semi retired :(

The Referral Center is where I take my progesterone to for same morning/afternoon results.Im spoiled to have all these great Specialty Vets less then 20 mins from me :p

Unfortunately I have been to the Referral center due to emergencies. One when my GSD bloated and also with my sister's golden when he was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma. The eye clinic is now separate from the Referral Center is located more towards Pewaukee. I have received good service from the referral center but the eye clinic is another story.

Dr. Jake Odders is an outstanding surgeon. I know of several dogs that he has done a TPLO on, that have done very well.

I had excellent care when Luke was so badly injured last summer, and the professional staff (docs, techs) were very good.
