the Central Arkansas Retriever Club will be holding a sanctioned Q+D on Sat. Nov. 5 on the beautiful Spurlock farm grounds. I'm asking for a strong show of support from the retriever community. This will result in approval for licenced trials starting next year. But we need your help. Ribbons will be awarded to all placements (sorry no points). This is an EE event (Thanks Shayne), And a great opportunity for those of you who have been asking for more trials. We are very excited about this event and hope you can participate. Thanks in advance,

CARC

BTW- we wil be offering BBQ catered free to participants at the conclusion on SAT. looking forward to seeing you there.

Just make sure you don't conflict with Metro trial when you have your first Licensed trial.

I'd think this would be a great pre-National trial for dogs that are already qualified.

Come on everybody, I have heard lot's of people say if you have a field trial we will come and support you,now we are doing it and our entries are slim. Arkansas and the surrounding states are loaded with retriever folks. If you have a dog come on and enter, you will have a good time.I know there are lot's of H.T. guy's out there with nice dogs that could come and run and lot's of F.T. guy's with dogs sitting at home that weekend. Our closing date is Tuesday October 25th.

I've been involved in several sanctioned events put on by clubs in order to get AKC approval for a licensed event.

My experience was that a sanctioned event with a bare minimum number of entries is preferable to an event with a large number of entries. Seems to me that the goal should be to have enough to meet AKC requirements withough undue stress or strain on the event organizers.

So, if you only have a handful of entrants for a sanctioned event, why is that a problem?
