Be careful on long term use. I had a terrible issue with using aspin frequently with my old dog,he ended up with a bleeding ulcer out of it. He is fine now but scary to come home to a huge pile of bloody vomit.

Metacam is preferred for pain in dogs.

Been giving regular 500 mg Bufferin for many years. Never on a continuing schedule, but as needed for long workouts hunting heavy cover. Usually two caps overnight and the dog is back from being stoved up to moving about sprightly, and ready to tackle the CRP again.

Thanks guys.

Deuce the Brittany was gimping around on three legs when I came home yesterday. I gave him 160 mg of aspirin, and he seemed fine this morning. We are due for a vet visit, so I might as well bring him in and get him checked out.

Thanks,

Will

I'd stay away from the uncoated aspirin. I think that's considered to abrasive on the dogs stomache. But that enteric stuff we humans take is on the same basis as Bufferin I believe.
