Since oil companies began providing fuel to the masses, GOVERNMENTS have extracted more in taxes than the OIL COMPANIES have made in profits. You might consider asking where those TAXES go before you get after the oil companies for making a reasonable profit on a increasingly risky venture!!!

Politicians shouldn't get a pass just because they know not what is happening! They know how to shout & scream about the high cost of fuel, without having a clue to the effort to put the fuel in the pump. Maybe some would like to sit in Jimmy Carter's gas lines like we did in the mid-70's?

Then everyone will be glad to pay whatever they have to!!!

Excuse me Marvin. On what basis do you credit Jimmy Carter with the gas lines of the 1970s? The gasoline lines of the 1970s were the result of OPEC oil embargos with the first announced in October 1973 to be exact. Jimmy Carter became president in 1977 and if he is to be credited with anything it would be just the opposite. Not that I am a Jimmy Carter fan. He has enough baggage without adding this without merit.

Marvin,

I am fully aware of the insane amount of taxes that are placed on consumables we purchase. I was just trying to make someone laugh. I see nothing in my original post that was as thought provoking as you made it to be.

As a matter of fact, I could of taken Citgo off of there because I know who owns that corporation. They don't get a dime of my money.

The other reason I thought it appropriate, I'm driving to Georgia tonight in my gas guzzling pickup truck. I love my wife, but wouldn't be caught driving her vehicle, (don't want to look swishy, no offense Shayne)don't care what the gas prices are :lol:
