Today ,,, Gunnison River.
River flows up a bit after local rains.
4 weight rod. Stonefly nymphs and small UV orange miracle nymph.
Wild fish! Rainbow a solid 16”. Brown trout pushing 20”
Several smaller fish.
All fish released unharmed.
Truly wonderful creatures..
I spent much of my childhood in Gunnison (circa; 1955 - 1964) we lived in town. I learned to trout fish on the Gunnison River, Taylor River and East River. My father was an expert at using a bamboo rod, fly reel, and floating line. I still go back into the area to fish, although much of the areas I used to fish are now private property.

Nice brown trout!

MG...nice pictures! I too like Brookies, they are beautiful trout. I find the Cutthroat to be the most difficult steam fish to catch. My Dad used to tell me they "hit the side of the bait" so you miss more than you catch. Not sure why, but they are always difficult to get on the hook...
