Best Testing Lab for EIC test only?

1255 Views 18 Replies 13 Participants Last post by  J. Marti
I will be needing to test a litter for EIC only (other testing will come later). The University of Minnesota no longer tests for EIC.

Any input into whether Animal Genetics or Paw Print or whoever is better? I will be testing an entire litter.

Thanks.

I just recently used VetGen with good success with a pretty quick turn around. They offer a $5 per test discount if you test more than 7 dogs at a time. A single EIC test runs $55. You also can just go to your local Walmart or Walgreens and buy the GUM medium tooth picks (pack of 10) so you don't have to wait for any special test kit. You just swab the inside of your dog's check with each brush for a few seconds put the lid on (2 samples per dog) and mail them to VetGen.
