just heard Billy Joe shot a man outside of a bar in a little town outside of Austin. the man was supposedly wielding a knife and acting drunk. Billy Joe claims it was self defense. i believe he shot the guy in the cheek. charges haven't been filed.

Saw Billy Joe Shaver perform here in Toronto a couple of summers ago -- also saw movie done by Robert DeNiro about him at same venue -- certainly one of a kind
