I have a buddy that's has a 2 year old hrch female and is thinking about breeding her because he wants another pup to train but doesn't know if he should breed her now or wait. He wants to eventually get a MH on her and doesn't know how much it would effect her of course there would be some down town on her training and he's going to get all health clearances before breeding. Do you think he would be better to wait or go ahead. Thanks

'nother year or two won't hurt a thing. If he wants two dogs they should be more than 2 years apart IMO. More like 4 or 5 years.

I'd give her another year or two. If he wants to get an MH on her, he's got plenty of project on his hands for now, and 2 is a bit young. Labs mature late, let her finish being a puppy before she puts all her energy toward making pups herself.
