Please help me settle a bet. Can two Yellows produce a litter with a black pup, or pups? I say no, but I'm normally wrong all the time.......

Nope, not possible. Yellow is recessive so you'll never get a black (or chocolate, for that matter) by breeding two yellows.
If you want proof, ask how many black golden retrievers exist!
