There are still a couple of working spots available for the Advanced Retriever Training Workshop with Carol Cassity from June 30-July 2, 2007 at Ambertrail Kennels, Maxville, ON.

This is an advanced seminar that will focus specifically on blinds of all kinds (land and water) and water work (marks and blinds). This is a working seminar. The majority of this workshop will be spent in the field, running set-ups and in the yard focusing on drills. All working dogs will be run on each set-up with extensive observation and feedback. Observers are encouraged and all attendees are urged to bring problems for discussion and to ask questions throughout the seminar.

Carol is the author of Building A Retriever, Drills & More. The book is a compilation of drills and best practices for the hunting retriever. Each drill was chosen because of its direct relevance to advancing retrievers for hunting and/or competition. Particular attention is paid to selecting drills that are within the means of most amateur trainers.

This was hands down the best 3 days I have spent with my dog. Carol has that rare gift of communicating with dogs AND people. She is very positive without being "foo-foo" :) She uses phrases in training like, "This is not a correctible moment" and "Tell him what TO do- not what not to do".

I could go on & on ( ), but to see the dogs run the drills & setups & each dog & handler come away with the tools to move forward as well as the emphasis on the relationship needed to work as a team- just phenomenal.

Ambertrail was the perfect place to train (Thank you Mike & Val!!)-understatement of the year.

Pam Martin made this seem effortless and she thought of everything to make the event not just a learning experiencem but FUN! She also is a joy to watch with her dogs!

The quality of the dog work was outstanding & where there were deficits there was clear training advice to go onward and upward and succeed.

Carol's dogs clearly demonstrate that she practices what she preaches. Confident and reliable dogs that clearly would do anything she asked. If this woman ever wanted to run FTs...

Thanks to all involved!!!
