I've been following the Smartwork program and know that Evan uses a TT e-collar. I have a Dogtra 1900NCP that I have been using and have a question. The way I CC'ed to Here was I started by 10 and worked my up in increments of 10, then by 5. I initially got a single response from my pup around level 35 and she'd come the rest of the way without any noise or discomfort it seemed. I worked my way up to 65 (out of 127) on continuous and she yelped a few times, but still didn't have the attitude of the dog in Evan's video. What level do those of you with the Dogtra units typically find as the max for your pups?

I am interested to see the reponses, because we have done the same thing. I think we went through Evan's CC to here process, taking Quinn all the way up to maybe 70 on the Collar, same thing, got a pretty good reaction and increased speed back to us, and then backed it back down. We get a good response at about 27-30 in our follow up sessions, sometimes, I throw in a higher one, or nicks, in f/u session. But, I am not sure if we did it "well" enough or used enough pressure in the teaching session, or now in the follow-up sessions.

I have collar conditioned using Evans method with a Dogtra collar. IMHO I feel like you are both doing the right thing by reading your dog and not the number on the controller. If you are getting the response out of your dog that Evan outlines then don't worry about the number.

But, since you asked, after collar conditioning my dog would run between 72-85 on the Dogtra collar. though he was a hard driving dog, results may vary. FWIW I have since switch to Tri-Tronics mostly because I found fumbling around try to get the correct intensity a pain to deal with.

Every dog is a little different. My first dog I never had to use more than 40-50 to get her halling to me. This one is a little different. I knew she was feeling pressure around 40, but I have to turn it up to 80 to get the desired response from her. She just seems to handle much more. She is way more hard headed then the first.

It would be more helpful to see a video clip of a session because there are more elements involved that just the e-collar. I would like to see your you conduct a session, and how the dog reacts in real time. Is that possible?
