My poor dog cut the webbing between two toes on a front foot. He had to have stitches. He is on crate rest with a cone. He is taking antibiotics and we spray liquid bandage on it 2x day. No bandage/wrap, so it gets airflow. He is not to get it wet. So we have something we put on his foot when he goes out for potty breaks. But it takes a long time to get on and if he really needs to potty, it is even more difficult to get on because he is squirming. Any suggestions for something that he won't puncture/tear to wear for potty breaks that's easy to put on? I was thinking about getting some dog boots, but not sure what would go on/off easily and stay on.

I would have suggested a boot. You can also get some baby socks and just try and be quick with some tape to hold it on long enough for your dog to relieve itself. You might also try to not wait so long between bathroom visits that he is squirming to go. Easier said than done I know.

Good luck, hope it heals fast

How about a plastic sandwich bag with a zip to?p. Might stay on long enough for a potty break. I recently used a taped on sock in the house, with a taped on plastic bag for outside to cover a torn toenail bandage. Dog booties are good too but they are harder to get on because they fit kind of tight.

I'm currently using an IV bag and tubing as strapping. Trying to tie it up is one problem. And now after several days of use, it has little punctures that leak. Punctures are from toenails (which are short and fairly smooth) and things in the yard. I'd like to find something more durable. We've got more time until this wound heals, and I'm sure this won't be the last foot injury. The IV bag is a great short-term solution, though. I'm currently duct taping holes in the IV bag.

Thanks for the suggestions this far. I ordered a few different boots (before Ray K posted). We'll see how well they work.
