I drive (or rather my wife drives) a 2008 F-250 SD. The best truck out there IMO...

except for the fact that it has left me broke down on the side of the road on too many occasions to count. Don't believe that you could give me another Ford.

That's a bad year. '08 was the first year of the twin turbo 6.4, and they had a slew of problems. The new 6.7 is by far Fords best engine yet... and I do meen Fords. This is Fords design, not Navistars. The 06-07 6.0's were ok after they worked alot of the kinks out from the 05. They can still give you problems (mainly i.e., EGR cooler, oil coolers, injector wiring harness, and turbo problems to name a few). The 7.3 navistar was to some and still is looked at as a well respected engine. Very dependable and long lasting. I knew a guy that had a 94 7.3 with 350k on the clock when he traded up to an newer '02 7.3.

I drive an '05 F-350 Lariat 6.0 Crewcab, 4x4 single rear wheel that's had the EGR valve replaced, injector wiring harness and a few sensors replaced. But,I wouldn't trade it off or drive a dodge or chevy for any reason. Especially seeing as though they needed to be bailed out.

My fiance drives our new 2012 F-250 crew cab Lariat 4x4 with the 6.7. For a stock engine, this thing is super quick... over 400 horses stock!

Last truck in had was a 2001 Chev, 3500 duramax, 19 mpg and it went 375,000 miles with few major repairs. the truck i just picked up is a 2007 3500 duramax with 87000 and it only gets 15.5 mpg, rather disappointed. Dad truck 2005 duramax 19 mpg gess i should have gone a few years older.

Lots of duramax owners. They're a nice diesel. I got to ride in one pulling a corvette on a 24' trailer. Not much of a load, but that thing was incredible. I loved the exhaust break on it.

2004 Chevy Crew Cab Dually 4x4 with LB7 duramax with 3:73 gears. PPE 120 hp tune, 4" open turbo back exhaust, cold air kit, & Kennedy boost controller. At the pump it sees 15-17 city 16-18 hwy depending on conditions and how I drive. If i really babied it i might squeak out a little more. Right now around here gas is probably 10¢ a gal more than diesel which i cant remember when the last time that happened.

2004.5 GMC 2500HD. I love it! I seem to be the odd one here because I'm getting 21-23mpg hwy and 16mpg or so city. I've done a lot of work/mods to the engine and transmission though. Not because I've needed to but because I've wanted to.

Not sure I like the rest of the vehicle but the Cummins is a hard motor to beat. I wish they would put in a chevy. The Cummins has plenty of power and will last forever and gets good mileage if you have the 5.7 . the 6.9 I have not been as impressed with. Really cant go wrong with the duramax either.

Powerstroke hater?

7.3 Powerstrok was great and was able to get 300k plus out of 2. I own Fords until they changed their engine. Thus, I changed to Cummins 5.7 and get 23 without a trailer and 18 pulling the trailer. The Dodge looks cheep inside but you give up something and get something with each. In March 2007 is when Dodge changed their engine.

In my laneway I have the wife's '05 Crapavan ( Caravan), my '88 GT COBRA 5.0L Mustang and a '01 F350 SRW with the 7.3 powerstroke. Not a bad truck, I've rebuilt the tranny, and replaced the oil pan, which was easy only 16 bolts to drop the oil pan, once you drop the tranny/ transfercase, driveshafts, intercooler, rad, fan, turbo, unbolt the engine and lift it 6" high, after that its easy to swap the oil pan..... Before this was a 2006 F550 with the 6.0L, I had it new and ran it to 100,000 miles, not a problem... But most guys had head gasket problems with these motors.... Before that 1997 Dodge Diesel, those Cummins ARE the best Diesel out there
