I have a diamond deluxe 2 hole summer dog box with 6 inch top storage. The box has open bars on the sides and doors with a rear vent. Currently during the hot training season, I put a plastic bottle frozen full of water in each hole to help create some cool air. I got to thinking about an idea. Has anybody ever converted the storage box to a "swamp cooler" by installing vents in the storage area to allow air to be drawn into the storage box, a 12 volt fan centered over the stall divider and then place several frozen water bottles around the fan? Such a device should cool the air as it's drawn across the bottles and pushed into the dog holes.

Anybody tried this?

I've seen a couple use bilge pump fans to circulate air from the storage space, they're cheap an easy to wire and duct.
