I just got a new pick up and I would like to put a dog box in it.

1. is this a good deal

2. would labs fit in this thing? Seems small.

My dog box dimensions on the inside are 28" deep (actual 30"-2" for vent loover box), 22 1/2" wide and 22" high. The storage on top is additional height. Box described is in my avatar.

How do the labs fit in there? I would assume they must get in a lay down and cant stand up?

Labs fit in there just fine. You can't make it any wider because it fits between the wheel wells. I don't think I would want my labs standing up when I am going down the highway at..... mph.

I just ordered a three hole from Diamond Deluxe. It has a 48" by 32' drawer in the bottom that fits between my wheel wells (the actual depth of the drawer is 5 ". The three holes are on top. Each hole is 20" wide by 21" tall by 32 ' deep. This box was made for my American Water Spaniels, but a Lab will fit in one just fine as long as he's not a 100 pounder. The total height of the box is 31". It has two fans mounted on the back that split the dividers between the boxes.

Do the dog boxes sit on top of the wheel wells? 3X20" is pretty wide for a standard pickup. A real question, not a tease like above.

Yes, the boxes sit over the wheel wells. The drawer is 9" high by 48' wide by 32" deep leaving 5" usable storage space for the drawer. My Z-71 is 62" across the bed; 60" fits perfectly inside, thus allowing for 3 20" holes (actually about 19 1/2").

32 INCHES is not too deep but 32 FEET is really deep! It was said in jest.

as far as whether it is a good deal or not.

I bought mine off of craigslist for $250 in des moines and it is 46x46x22 with 5" of top storage.

Labs can get in, turn around and lay down. They can sit with their heads held down.
