I have been working with hand signals for a few weeks now and my dog is doing great running the land t. he goes the right direction 95% of the time. The problem i have now is i have started to put distance between me and the dog and when i do so and give him the over command. he wants to come slightly toward me and at a angle to the over pile. instead of taking a straight line. He does end up going to the correct pile, just not in a straight line more of a loop in my direction. What can i do to make his over lines more straight. Should i create more of a barrier wher he can loop toward me, an obstruction maybe?

Not uncommon when beginning T work ---- I usually just move up after I give the dog a sit whistle.... Build confidence - precision will come.

Be sure you are being clear with your casts

Record your self giving the casts. I did and it looked like i was dancing to a bee gees song i was throwing the casts out so fast and squirrely. Slowing down and being deliberate made a big difference.
