Nice dry fine Hay. Kinda like the timothy hay used for rabbits. Cheap, readily available, is swept out and disposed of easily.
I've always stayed away from anything cedar. Many old-timers (I suppose I'm in that category now
) believe that cedar "dulls" the nose. And no, before anyone asks, I have no scientific evidence of this.
