I have a dog that has suffered an injury to his back during training. The vet tells me one of the worst things you can let a dog do is jump in and out of a truck. I am looking for a loading ramp and want to get some advice on telescoping vs. folding ramps and what material is best on the ramp, since it would get wet. I am a woman handler and need something light and easy to use.

I use the folding yellow pet ramp. It is not slick when wet and it is holding up to my 85 lb males just fine. I have used it hard for 2 years and it is still in good shape. It is a little heavy - 14 lbs, but I think it will hold up better than the metal ones.

I made one out of 1x10. Cut it and hinged it then added 1x2 lengthwise at the the hinge section for strength. Pinted it with exterior paint and added sand for traction. or you can stick on the gritty stair strips. Don't know how much it weighs but it is pretty light and cheap too. I like cheap

I bought an aluminum one that hinges in the middle and will hold up to 125 lbs at least. Pretty light weight also. It has a sandpaper type substance on the surface for the dogs to have traction.
