I'm new to duck hunting! I started 2 season ago and have been getting all my ducks with a pirogue! I recently came across a man and lady across town wanting to give away a started female aka choc lab! So I picked her up last week! She's a great friendly dog and very good around my son! She def has some training! She fetches to hand land or water! I'm wanting to get her finished and I'm looking for somebody close to home so I can swing by and work with her while she's there! Just seeing if y'all no of anybody good to bring her too! Looking for best bang for the buck!

She was born dec 19th 2011! She's very smart! I throught bout training her! I can show her something a few times and she remembers! She is very energetic and can't sit still! I found out this past week she's ok with boat rides! But when I was fishing she would jump out of boat after lures! Finally broke her of that after few trips! If I decided to train her is there any great videos that you would say where the best?

Bill Autrey is the best in Louisanna. Autrey kennels. Look him up. Great guy.
OP wants someone close to his town of Denhim Springs, where is Bill located in relation to that La town? Agree Bill is a great guy but best in Louisiana is subjective at best.;)
Chuck McCall would be best choice for OP given location and ability.

So she's 8,035,200 seconds old! or right at 3 months 2 days :p
(Just shy of my pups age)

Training DVD's? - Lots to choose from.

There are puppy programs out there for how to introduce your pup to things before it's time for formal training and what not to do etc.

In your case the Fowl Dawgs Series(Complete Program) would provide you a very worthy +Duck Dog. Total Package price = $60
However it'd also mean you'd have to purchase an E-Collar ($150 to $400)

There is MUCH debate on Training Videos & E-collars. I'd definitely talk to the names mentioned here and see what they say, determine what you can afford and go from there.

I've never had a Trainer, to include a name or two above, turn a phone call or e-mail down. Just a fair warning, most might keep you on the phone longer than you intended. Their love and compassion for the dogs and their training will likely surpass your own ;)

Chuck Mccall /Jason Moore are very close to you. They do a very nice job of training. I have judged both of them a lot. Chuck's Kennel name is Chumac Kennels. He will also work with you to teach you.. THere are several good trainers in Louisiana and So. Miss, but Chuck is the closes to you.
