Dumb question...maybe, but here goes.

If have no intent on breeding my dog, would it matter really if the pup selected was EIC Carrier or EIC Clear? Is the EIC "carrier" really only a negative when matching up a mate in breeding?
Thanks

doesn't matter if you are not intending to breed....if you are, and you have a carrier, need to breed to clear!!!

If the breeder can not tell you which pups are EIC clear and which are EIC Carrier, because the test results are not back yet, is it a realistic request by the new pup buyer to say he is interested in ONLY an EIC clear pup....and if the pup he is interested in is not clear a "no go"? in this case, the EIC results won't be back until the week the pups are ready to go home.

Thoughts?
Thanks

EIC clear or carrier means your dog is not affected and will not show EIC symptoms. If you have no intentions on breeding it doesn't matter which you pick. And if you do intend to sometime breed, it only matters in that if you have an EIC carrier you should only breed to EIC clear.

Happy retrieving,

Yes, it is a realistic request. You will find that some folks care whether or not a pup is an eic carrier and some do not, but it is a valid request of the potential buyer. The seller can either accept the request or tell the buyer to look elsewhere.
