I have had 2 dogs from Jake. The first was a great HT dog that I was going to get my feet wet in the Q game with. The second is a very stylish dog that I will run in HT. I am picking up my third on March 31.........again hoping to be able to get started in the FT game.
I have really liked all my Jake pups so far and will never be able to say enough about Andy.

"Jake"....is such an inspiration himself, but with the addition of Andy and John as his amateur trainers..frosting on the cake so to speak.

I first heard of him from a totally Lab FT guy..that was so impressed with him in Missouri when Jake was very young in the AA Stakes...and raved on for a long time about him. Turned out he had a good eye for a good Golden Retriever! :)

Enjoy your newest "Jakelet" (borrowed from M.F.)

(Love your Avatar...and "Tuck N Run"..is a great name!!, lovely tribute to him on your site, Shannon ..)

My Jake pup FC Firemark Rackem And Stackem Casey has amazed me from the day I picked him up at the airport. He always comes out ready to work.

There is a "youngster" here in Maine that should amount to something!!!! :)

Beautiful big strapping boy..from what I have seen, only in the obedience ring just recently. Have not seen him in the field.

Owners need to post who it is though, I am not allowed.

I bred my girl to Jake and have gotten nothing but glowing reports from the puppy owners. Andy kept one and says he is doing very well! I just love Jake!
There may be a bunch of them at the GRCA NS this year. :)

Jerrod,

I think we have littermates - they'll be 4 mo on the 28th. My Jake pup went swimming yesterday - like he's been doing it for weeks. Only splash water before that - been too cold.

I see lots of desire, trainability, perseverance and pretty fearless. He's only been 'out' training twice - yesterday and a shot flyer day I organized for our golden club. He brought in 2 big ducks at 14 weeks.

Cute as a button, too

Jerrod,
I'm glad you are enjoying your Jake puppy so much! I really have never met a Jake puppy I didn't like! We have been fortunate enough to have had some very nice girlfriends for Jake and together they have made some great pups.

We currently have three Jake pups. Annie is a pup that goes back to Bede (Andy's first ). She ran a few derbies and I think got about 6 points. She became QAA right after ending her derby career. She is just like her daddy Jake in that she is very smart and will work with/for almost anyone. We expect great things from her as soon as Andy and I can find time to run her. Parker is a handsome boy with personality plus. Who knows what the future holds for him? Maverick is the baby of our Jake puppies. He is showing us some really great things at a very early age just like his dad. We have high hopes for him as well.

Unfortunately, I'm not rich. Paying for entry fees and vet bills can be extremely expensive. We have had a few others that we made the tough choice to go where others could enjoy them which allowed us compete and take care of our "big dogs". They are hardly "washouts".

In our minds, following in Jake's footsteps is a pretty tall order. Some have had their careers end before ever getting a chance to live up to this goal. Some will only make it part of the way due to things like family, the economy, jobs, personal health and other reasons.

We look forward to the many future achievements of the "Jakelettes" and hope to count ourselves in this group.

By the way we currently have a Jake pup from his last breeding that might become available. He is about 6 weeks old. Please pm me if interested.

Well I don't have a Jake pup but sure do enjoy cheering them on. Any good pub for our breed is wonderful and Jake certainly is an outstanding representation of the golden retriever! Best of luck to everyone with their pups!

Jerrod,

You are very lucky to have a Jakelet.....We adore our Houston, out of Firemark's Pilot http://www.k9data.com/pedigree.asp?ID=256266 , a full littermate to Marie's Casey. If we were better trainers, he would be much further along. He will be running MH and Qual this year, also sitting on 2 CDX legs, one to go.

Friends of ours own Scout, out of Firemark's Jump....I believe he has his UKC Finished title or has one leg left to earn.

Both these boys are so sweet, biddable, will do anything for you, yet their drive and desire cannot be beaten. Jake throws some awesome pups. My Houston looks exactly like Jake, such a handsome boy! His registered name is We have Ignition and he is appropriately named! Very proud of him. Scout is just as handsome

Have fun with yours! If you look at Jake on K-9 Data and his offspring, you will see alot of pictures linked there.

You guys were very lucky to make it home from GA. with Mav. He almost came home with us. :) Cool little man. Got a good pic of him in my truck, when Andy caught me "making a break for it" with the little guy. ;) I'd post it, but for some reason my pics don't post on here anymore. Photobucket isn't working like it used to.
