At what point do you switch a pup from two feedings a day to one? I have no clue! Help would be appreciated!

I feed all my dogs twice a day. Why do you want to switch to one time per day?

Just curious regards,

Andy

Once a day, in the evening. They start telling me about 5:30 Pm that it's feeding time.
I don't like to hunt them or train them on full stomachs.

I currently feed my adult lab once a day for the reason stated above, but I cant remember at what age I switched her from twice a day to once.

I feed twice a day, my dog has loose stools, and on recommendation from someone in the dog food industry to go to two feeding a day, it has helped.

At about 9 months, when the growing slowed down I began decreasing the amount I was feeding in the morning and increasing the amount I was feeding in the evening. When I got it to where he was eating once a day I started to switch him from puppy to adult, mixing the food together and gradually increasing the adult. That's what my vet told me to do and worked good for me.

Around a year old, which is about the the age that I switch from puppy food to adult. I believe Purina has done some fairly extensive studies on feeding and there seems to be some real benefits to feeding once a day in the evening, giving the dog a certain amount of time to digest the food so they get the most out of it the next training day. You might find the exact info if you go to their web site.
