Dave,

YWHRC has a website and contacts. www.ywhrc.com
Shoreline RC. Not sure if they have a webpage.
Colonial RC. Not sure if they have a webpage.
Yankee Golden Retriever Club

That's all of the clubs with large bases in Ct that I can think of off the top of my head. PM me if you have more questions.

Regards,

Steve

David-

You can't go wrong with any of these clubs. Not sure if you are going to run FTs or HTs. Colonial & Shoreline run HTs & FTs (I'm sure some of the others put on FTs too, but can't think which ones off the top of my head). If you can live gun-John Valentine will welcome you into Colonial with open arms!

All of the clubs are made up of hard working friendly folks w/ great grounds. I've always enjoyed running their events.

Good luck w/ your move. Lots of beautiful places in CT.

My goal is FT but

There's a lot of fun in the Hunt Tests too. I just have to wait until my little lady is 12 or so and she's slows down a bit.

So I'd like to connect with as many clubs as possible that are located reasonably close so I can train daily. I enjoy helping out and as an early riser I'm usually the first one sitting at the gate to help set-up for the LIFTC hunt tests on Long Island.

Thanks to all for your help. I should have left this Island 10 years ago. I've lived here all 37.

Thanks again. David

I train w/ Steve Hamel as much as I can. I see he offered to have you PM him. I would strongly suggest you contact him. Great guy to train with & again-all of these clubs would be happy to have you come & help out. CT is small enough that you will be close to all of the clubs whether they use Nod Brook, W. Thompson (& that usually includes Peakebrook) or Addieville.

Ken Bora is right. Ticks. Think about the Lyme shot seriously. Lyme disease is no joke here. Tick collar or Frontline Advantix may not do it. I keep my dogs on advantix all year round and give the shot. All the clubs in Ct are good clubs and all have good people.Though training areas are shrinking. Listen to Steve or Paul. They will never lead you wrong.
