What: Young Dog Training Seminar by Rick Stawski covering Basic Obedience thru Swim-By

Details: Six handlers and their dogs will be chosen for the yard work and marking portion of the seminar. Another six handlers and their dogs will be used for the marking portions only. There will be some extra time available to review yard work problems for those handlers and their dogs selected for the marking portions of the seminar.

Schedule of Events


Friday: 7am-8am - Breakfast at Fine Line Retrievers

8am-12pm - Yard work, Seminar and hands on dog training using handlers and their dogs

12pm-1pm - Lunch provided by Aurelio's Pizzeria

1pm-5pm - Marks, hands on dog training using all handlers and their dogs

6pm-? - Review the day's training and Fish Fry


Saturday: 7am-8am - Breakfast at Fine Line Retrievers

8am-12pm - Yard work, Seminar and hands on dog training using handlers and their dogs

12pm-1pm - Lunch provided by Aurelio's Pizzeria

1pm-5pm - Marks, hands on dog training using all handlers and their dogs

6pm-? - Review days training and dinner provided by Aurelio's Pizzeria


Sunday: 7am-8am - Breakfast at Fine Line Retrievers

8am-12pm - Yard work, Seminar and hands on dog training using handlers and their dogs

12pm-1pm - Review the day's training and Lunch provided by Aurelio's Pizzeria

1pm - Departure


All interested applicants should supply a letter describing their dog along with a brief paragraph explaining why they would like to attend the seminar. Applications are open to all retriever trainers. We will try to select a combination of field trial, hunt test and hunting dogs. All successful applicants will be sent copies of the videos Fowl Dawgs 1 and Fowl Dawgs 2 and are asked to view the videos before attending the seminar. By viewing the videos, it will save time, stimulate questions, and make our training more efficient.

The seminar will be filmed for possible use in future videos.

Rooms at a special seminar rate have been reserved at the Milaca Super 8.


This seminar is being held in conjunction with the release of Fowl Dawgs 2. Fowl Dawgs 3 will be available in September. At that time we will host: Training Your Fowl Dawg featuring Transition dogs.

i got an email today that they will announce the winners next week............got all my fingers crossed right now!!!!


my pup is right at that age/training schedule with what they are emphasizing on. would be a great experience nonetheless.

Great weekend .

There was allot of info and good dog work .

A big Thanks to Rick,Shawn and everyone involved it is a rare occasion you go to a seminar and get to see Dogs improve as much as we did this weekend .

If you liked Fowl Dogs 1 the Fowl Dogs 2 will be a great addition to your collection .

Rick Stawski put on a great Seminar and very open and made everyone feel like they were one of his old friends and made you feel very comfortable ..

I was only there for Friday and I still learned a ton about dog training. Even though Briggs and I sat in the holding blind for well over an hour :roll: we still had fun! I didn't think I would see results from one session but I have seen plenty of improvement.
