My Jack Russell just caught a sparrow type bird (he is quick), & its now 3/4 dead. Since I didnt have any birds yet for the BLM pup 11 weeks old, I took him over to it, he went up & looked at it but didnt pick it up, so I picked it up by the tip of its wing, & threw it, well then the pup took it & ran with it.

He took it ran to the back yard, didnt crush or chew it or roll on it, but after about 2 minutes of holding it in his mouth, he started tossing it aound like a toy.

Should I let him do this, or stop?

Should I toss the bird for him again?

This was 5 minutes ago, & I took him into the house, bird is outside.

Let him play with it. Then get it and toss it again........like 6' and let him go get it.
Take it away with lots of praise afther he has it for a minuite or two. Let him retrieve it 3-4 times and then make it disapear while your playing and peting him. Enough on sparrows.

Lol!

Well, we played with the bird, he retreived it nicely, albeit a bit slow, its 110 degrees outside right now, yikes!

But the opportunity was there, so I took it. :-D
