A better question would be how the guys they gush over actually do in the NFL. Remember when Colt Brennan was Kiper's "can't miss" QB? Kiper raved about him for two years until UGA exposed him for what he was, a guy used to playing pitch and catch against weak defenses. Kiper once said Jamarcus Russell could be one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL. Kiper ignored Russell's renowned laziness. Let's not forget that Kiper was extremely critical of Jay Cutler while he touted the ease of transition Vince Young and Matt Leinert would have in the NFL due to their "skill sets." Darren McFadden, Lawrence Phillips, Reggie Bush (jury's still out), Lendale White, Blair Thomas, Andre Ware, Rick Mirer, Brian Brohm, Ryan Leaf, Keith McCants, Desmond Howard, Rocket Ismail, and the list goes on with all the players Kiper just knew were going to make a huge impact in the NFL. Some had decent seasons but nothing consistent. Most were out of the league within a few seasons. Out of nowhere, guys like Kurt Warner, Tom Brady, and Wes Welker became household names. The moral of the story, you never know but Kiper gets paid well for throwing darts at a board.
