My daughter attends FDU and we got a call last night saying that there was a scare on Campus. So my wife called the Police are were told they were investigating called the FBI who didn't know anything about it and then called school security and they were investigating all the while my daughter was required to attend class. With what is going on in the world I do not understand how this school wasn't locked down, building searched and classes cancelled

NEW YORK -- A message reading "FDU, you're next" was found on a wall in a stairwell at Fairleigh Dickinson Campus Thursday.

A number of hand-written sheets with the same message were found inside an overturned trash container in the stairwell of Hamilton Twombly Residence Hall at the Florham campus of FDU.

According to Florham Park police officials, an investigation is under way and the campus officials are cooperating fully with the department.




The university beefed up security measures by increasing the number of public safety officers and manning guard booths throughout the campus Thursday night.

A few weeks ago, we had a tornado come very close to our building at 4:09 pm per live weather online. We didn't get the warning or evacuation to safer areas until after 4:30 pm.

Our group has one guy that works from 7am to 4 pm, and he drove home by the storm. He should have been prevented from leaving until an all-clear was given.

Evacuation systems and lock downs for real emergencies need to be improved for large facilities.

Wow ! I literally live 5 miles from FDU (Fairleigh Dickinson Univ) -- and train my CLM pup right across the street by Loantaka. I also work in Chatham, NJ. We have not heard anything about this at all. It has not made the news or papers. Both my brothers are in law enforcement in the immediate area and have not said anything. Either way, we are living in very sad times. My heart and prayers goes out to everyone at VA Tech.
