Question to all of you that have been in this sport a long time. Is the average field trial dog of today a more naturally/genetically talented dog than those of the 80's or 70's? I know (or at least it's my opinion) that training programs have improved greatly and the average amateur (and their pro’s) have a great deal more in resources – better grounds, better training devices, and “programs” to follow with clear training materials. Again - are the dogs more talented or are we just getting more out of them? I know plenty of people are going to say it’s both – to you I ask would Honcho be the superstar today that he was back then? How about Corky?
