We are going to Vegas for an extended weekend - we are not into the shows type of thing, but wanted to know what else is a must see. We will also be on foot - not renting a car so has to be within reasonable walking distance of our hotel which is not on the main strip, but a block or so off.

Lainee, I did some of the above last week. I sent you a PM already.

If you throw birds for Coop, see if you can bring the shrimp, scallions and ribeye and get the special Southwestern spin on the grill. It is well worth it....(but sorry, a previous guest already used up the Heineken light that nobody in the Rice household cared for)

Kevin, thanks again for being a great host.

BlueMan Group is really cool! Bellagio fountain show is a must-see...a short hike from the hotel, FREE, every half hour I believe.

The Heineken Light set a record for the longest lasting beer in a Rice fridge. It was my pleasure having you drink it all.

Don't get bottled into "walking distance". You can hop in a cab and go anywhere, or jump on a bus and go downtown. Do downtown at night. The main street is a show unto itself.

The 'Mirage', 'Treasure Island' and the other theme hotels have sidewalk entertainment. I'm sure there are far more than the last time I was in that city.

But I might take it in again during the National Broadcasters convention in April, If my leg is up to it. Always looking for a "write-off".

BTW, take David to see the trapeze act at Circus Circus.

UB...I do need to get back there and visit my money again.

As stated the Bellagio water show is a must see, but go up in the eiffel tower at night and watch it from there. That is a truelly beautiful way to see it.

The big shot is a great ride.

One of my favorites was Seigfried and Roy's Secret Garden behind the Mirage. You can see all of the big cats and a dolphin show. They change out some of the big cats during the day, so you get to see different species at different times.

If you like coasters, then you need to get a rental or whatever it takes and go to Buffalo Bills and hit the Desperado at 209', 80+ mph, and almost 4 G's.!

Food. You can eat yourself silly. All the places inside the new Wynn casino are great. The italian place right by the floor is excellent. The grill in the Four Seasons which is on top of Mandalay Bay is awesome. So is the Charlie Palmer's up there. Boby Flay's Mesa Grill in Ceasars is good for southwestern type food. Aureole in Mandalay is good and has the wine angels which is cool to see.

Basically depends on what you want to spend but you can find great meals in any price range.

if you like sushi, go to Little Buddha at the Palms, best I've ever had ..... the hookers there are fantastic too   j/k but if you eat at Little Buddha in the late evening, there is a nightclub right across from it where all the stars go, the name escapes me right now but you'd be surprised at who you see stumble in there.

Take the helicopter ride to the grand canyon.

I can't think of the service we used, started with a "P". It was great, not as costly as some of the others. Great time though. We ate lunch in the canyon above the Colorado River. Papion or something like that. Then seen our pilot on a Gulf war special, he had flown in the war. FYI on wether they have good pilots or not.
