Anybodies lab have hair stand up on the back of his neck? My labs hair stands up when he barks at the door, gets excited, etc. Its a pretty high and distinct ridge.some people think he is crossed with something but he looks pure to me.

We call that their 'hyena' hair do. All of my dogs stand their hair up anytime they get super aroused- during a fun game of 'tag' with the other dogs, when they smell a bear, when a strange dog shows up in the yard, etc. Totally normal and definitely not a sign of being a mixed breed :)

His Dad was a black lab and his mother a chocolate. Mom had papers but dad didnt. But when you looked at the father you immediately thought..."lab". So i cant be sure because he has no papers but I dont think there is a problem. Good to no other dogs have mohawks too!

I think Brian's comment about having a bit of golden in him was a jab about the bandana, for some reason Golden owners are psychologically programmed to put bandana's on their dogs for some reason!

My Black alb female has a pretty stellar mohawk when she's on high alert
