Thanks to everyone's help. I think I have the hang of taking pictures of black dogs. Now I don't know why it is so big on the screen.

What a HANDSOME fellow!

Okay Todd, what did you do besides resize the image, and how did you bring it in to work on it? So far all I know how to do as far as stuff on this site is edit my own stuff if I need to add or change something, but have no idea how to "capture" someone else's image.
Thanks

HPL
Right click on Picture and select (Save image as). Then select where you want to put it .Eg Desktop Folder 1..
Well ain't that slick?! Just tried it and bingo!
Thanks
Just right click on the image and save it in your "pictures" then I opened it up in PH elements, and changed the levels a little bit, and added a sharpening layer to it.
Howdy Todd!
Thanks for the reply!
After pulling it up myself in PS CS4, I tried a smart sharpen and that makes a big difference. I also messed with the exposure and contrast a bit and that helps too. Certainly doesn't hurt to to start out with a good looking pup either.
Wayne, if you are using Photobucket, I believe that there is an option to save (copy) it as a web appropriate image and that will automatically resize it so that when you post it, it won't be so huge and it saves you a step in photoshop.
OK, I redid on photobucket only. I couldn't find the photobucket function that saves as web appropriate size. Give me a clue where to look, HPL.
Okay, I went back to Photobucket and looked for the function I had used before and had a bit of trouble finding it at first. When you first load images into photobucket there is a tab that says "actions" and in those actions is something about creating a link code. If you choose that option it then gives you several more options for the links. You want to choose the one that says something about use on forums and choose the "full size" option there, not the "clickable link" one.
After you have created your album and left it and then gone back to it the "actions" option seems to go away so you need to mouse over the image you are attempting to upload to the forum and choose "share" under the image. Once the "share" window opens, choose "get link code" and then proceed as above. Not as complicated as it sounds and photobucket automatically sizes the image correctly. To see the results of that process, go to the "test forum" and look at the photo-test I posted a little while ago to be sure that I was giving you the straight dope. Those two images were loaded into photobucket full size (about 5.5 megabytes each) and posted to the forum perfectly.
