I know a guy that does the whole raw thing and they use a dehydrator a lot. Mainly for treats etc. They are totally into balancing it out though and do a vege and pureed organ meat meal too. There are a few natural type diets that are commercially available that are dry.

Wysong (I think) has these freeze dried meat patties that my dogs just love. They are pricy and I haven't gotten them in a while.

This question was actually for my father-in-law who is a hound man. He said years back people would advertise dry dog food recipes in full cry magazine. You paid about a buck for the recipe and made your own. Now he can't find any advertised. I figured if any place would have that kind of info it would be RTF.

homemade dry dogfood.

Back in the late 1970's we made homemade dry dogfood using meat meal. No longer have the recipe but you might want to try a feed mill as that is where all the ingredients were purchased. We mixed the ingredients and served it wet. Lots of things change over the years and I would not do it again. A lot of dog foods being sold back then were not very good. Generic dogfood was also used frequently by us and others who had large amount of dogs. It should have never been fed to working dogs and I cringe when I think about feeding it to my dogs now. Dry dogfoods have greatly improved.
