My 3 yr old has so far don great with training. But I've run into something that I'm not sure I know how to correct.

When running level ground or straight up or down hill he does fine. But when running a field where he goes out on level ground then has to go up or down
he acts as though he has hit a fence. When I cast him over the hill, he goes very reluctantly. When going level then up a hill to a mark he seems to get confused.
What exercises could be used to correct this?

Try to isolate that one factor. So no cross wind + hill for example. Run short marks as described above . As with any factor, handle as soon as you read the dog is giving in to the factor. Give litteral casts and hold the dog accountable for taking them. Typically no correction for the first give in to the factor, but give a corection for a cast refusal (not taking and holding the cast).

Of course, you need to make sure the dog has good foundation work, or they may not understand indirect pressure.
