I haven't read any of the WR threads. No time.

I'd like to introduce a new concept: Reader's Digest Condensed threads. Roll up all the controversies into one thread, so those of us with little time on our hands can keep up.

Here, I'll start:

I bred my UK-bred silver show Lab bitch with one bad hip and no titles (but she's a good huntin' dawg, all Amish/amateur trained) to a fox-red NFC on Mike Lardy's truck. Should I do the CNM test before they go to their new homes?

Well, that depends.

Can't remember the author of that profound statement or I would give credit for it.

How about the ones I'm selling to the Mennonite Labradoodle puppy mill down the street? Do poodles get CNM? Maybe I can skip testing those, save a little $.

Only if its a "good dog", and you make all the new owners play the "name my pup" as part of the limited registration.

Should I be concerned that my dog from Wisconsin has more drive than my dog from TX who seems intelligent & is larger than my dog from GA - or is it the norm (& I didn't know it) that dogs from WI are just born with more drive & those from TX intelligent? Notwithstandig the drive trait, I do like the size of GA dogs so I guess GA dogs are just bred for ideal size. Until I began to understand that all dogs from the UK were calm & steady, I never realized that place of birth had so much to do with a dog's potential.

I didn't see my answer in the poll.

How many more topics we need on certain issues is directly dependent on whether you're a newbie or not.

If you're a newbie, and inadvertently start such a topic, woe is you. You should have done a search!

Then, as the months go on, you get to see the same topics, discussed over and over and over and over again....by everyone else.

Sorry, not meaning to be pot stirring, but I've seen this happen here and on other forums. And in case nobody noticed, the phpbb software doesn't make searching very fun...it returns way too many topics with your word....you have to be really GOOD at crafting search terms in order to find out whether or not you should post something.

Maybe we should have a contest....a week where we all have to post a truly fascinating topic that has NEVER BEEN DISCUSSED in the history of RTF. I bet it would be an interesting, fun week. I'd love to think up one myself.
