months are in February?
I'm so tired of this month I can't stand it.
Time to get serious about training in nice weather and plant my tomatoes!!!

I am sitting here sweating while going from the house to our van, as my lot are finally entered in a retrieving trial this weekend.

Just rang long suffering husband and advised him I am delaying leaving as the temperature will be 100F, at the trial (and camping) site. A cool change is expected tonight. Yipeee.

And why aren't you wintering in warmer climates Mr. Retired Guy????

You are retired right?? I'm just assuming..... :)

No reason to stay where you are under those conditions....

I think March is a far worse month up north.... It's a teaser month...

Sorry to hear about 80 degrees and sun today regards.....

Got a good cornbread with crawfish recipe today from Camy Doucet who use to play with the Hackberry Ramblers. Food, music, women and retrievers is what I like about this place. Besides, the duck hunting ain't bad either.

Yes, I'm retired, and sometimes wish I was not.

It costs big $$$ to spend time south to train. Gas, food, lodging, etc, etc. I'm on a limited income, and not rich like a tall blonde woman I know in Texas! She has extra income from her wine "evaluation" business, that she does on the side! Hard folks to find, those "wine evaluators".

With 3 dogs, 2 retired, it would cost me a ton to board them for trips south. I have the invites to NC, but their weather is really not too much different than ours, the majority of the time. But lately theirs is warmer and no ice.

Then there is that little thing known as "homeowner responsibility".......
if I don't do it, it don't get done!

We are expected to get 12" of snow with ice to boot!! NOT happy about that
Coming back home to snowbanks over my head was a bit of a shock. A person could get used to training in Texas in the winter. Absolutely one of the best trips I've taken!! :)
