The pro vs dog thread brought up a frequent topic that I think deserves to be its own thread.

What do you think?

How many days a week of work?

How much work a day?

For field work only : A Half hour a day for ea dog 5 days a week for the first two years and 2/3/4 days a week after that.
Plus All incidental time required for socialization and OB.
Add feeding and airing to that and it makes for a long day

Seven days a week. Or, as many days in a row as possible, so long as the dog continues to give maximum effort, is holding up physically, and is making discernable progress. I really think that most dogs (at least, my dogs) enjoy working every day.

Optimally, would like to do three-legged pattern or other such drill and two concept driven marking set-ups each day, all seperated by two to three hours rest. Otherwise, one set of multiple blinds and one set of marks a day (morning/evening) each furthering a concept .
