Due to requests I have been planning a training seminar this spring. With the regular hunt test season quickly approaching I thought it would be appropriate to have a hunt test skills seminar. At this seminar we will be focusing solely on common problems that occur at hunt tests. The seminar will be held on Saturday March 31st at 9am at my kennel in Rockton, IL.
Some of the topics will include:
Breaking
Creeping
Walk Ups
Diversions
Mouth Problems - mouthing birds, sticking, etc.
Line Manners
I would welcome suggestions on other topics to cover at the seminar.
This seminar is not intended to be a skills training seminar, but rather a trouble shooting seminar. Handlers are welcome to bring their dogs, so that we can work with particular problems hands on. Since the first regular hunt test in this area is only about a month away, hopefully I could give suggestions and hands on instruction in hopes of "fixing" certain problems before the first test.
I am NOT charging for the seminar. I appreciate all the work that the clubs put forth to host hunt tests, and would like to put this seminar on as my Thanks for all their the hard work.
It would be beneficial for me to get an approximate head count before the seminar. I would like (but not require), attendees to RSVP via e-mail to
