The thread about top amateurs got me thinking who would be the top husband & wife amateur team ??? There are so many couples running FTs together as a "team" -- interesting to see who makes such a list.

Do John and Martha Russell both run dogs?
they both run dogs and they both have a dog qualified for the National Amateur

I am technically a pro. I get compensated for training dogs at least and have aspirations of being full time one day soon.

Could my wife handle a dog for me as an amateur??
No, if you are a professional your wife is ineligible to run the Amateur stake

I would definitely agree with the Youngloves -- they've had great results but not just lately (but then I have a real soft spot for Click) -- got to know the Hays when I bred my YLF to Marathon Man -- watched them run up here in Timmins at Canadian National Amateur and then again at St. Louis Spring FT (1990 or 1991) -- met Jim and Judy Powers at various US FTs including National Amateur at Tonawanda (1990 or 91)-- both very good handlers as I recall -- then on this side of border we have the Gunns out in BC and here in Ontario several different succesful husband and wife teams (including Cynthia and Ted Gadawaski of Bluenorth Kennels)
