We are starting to think about new training ponds this year. We have been currently using lots of diffrent ponds for technical work and marks. We will still be using those ponds for marks, but we want to know your thoughts on tech. pond setups so lets have it. Money really is an object, but we own a D-6 cat and we're ready to mve some dirt.

Assuming you are talking about pond design, go here:

http://www.oriondogsupply.com/

Click on Free Information, look for the article "Training Ponds" under Training Resources.

There is also an article in Mike Lardy's training collections about pond design - I think it's in the third volume.

If you were asking for help re pond construction, well, never mind. :?

I would hire Nelson Sills as my pond design consultant. Similar to using Arnold Palmer to layout your golf course.

Prolly only take a few seconds, but the entertainment value would be huge. Might have to do wome touchup work with the dozer though.

Impressing the neighbors regards

Was gonna make some witty remark like "If money was no object I would watch from my Cadillac Escalade".

But as I was scrolling down, I saw Bubba's response and think it's better than mine. :D

Fowl Hunter, this pond that Kevin posted up, looks awesome. Could you get the cordinates for this and PM them. Then, we could look it up on Google Earth from an above view.

If you know what highway it is off of, and what the closest address to the property, you could also do it like that. This is a thread that I was going to start here soon anyways. Good timing..... . I have been pondering what was the best design that could include most every aspect of what was needed...ie...swimby, down the shore, over multiple points, by the point...etc,etc,etc. We are seriously thinking about digging one this summer.
