Hey guys, I hate to be “that guy” but I’m looking for a lab. For the past 2 and ½ months my wife and I have been on the wait list for a litter, Unfortunately those dogs caught a virus and passed away before they were ready to come home. I’m not looking for a field trial dog, or a dog with too much “horsepower” I know this can be difficult to predict. I love the blocky headed look of some of the conformation labs, and I’d love to find a dog with that kind of look and at least some drive to retrieve. We are located in the Memphis area and would be willing to travel a long way to find the right dog. My wife is puppy crazy, I’m not sure how much longer I can get her to wait. I’m afraid that I’ll come home form work and find a Yorkie! Please a novice out!

Google Hiddensprings retrievers in Colorado or GCH Hiddensprings Blue Goose MH and try get hold Edna Schneck She has trained conformation dogs to MH and shown them up to CH or GCH - so she seems to try and have the dual purpose lab you are looking for in your description. Good info on her website as well you should read. Doubt she may have pups right now but she may lead you to others. Please be cautious purchase pup right away and really a puppy purchase you should not rush so y'all need to sit down and work that out owning one is a 10-15 year commitment and get what you really want. In pedigree look for show champions (CH in front of a dogs name in an AKC papers and JH/ SH or MH behind the name) mixed with hunting titles. Kerrybrook is another well know kennel in that arena IMO , sure there are many others. Sorry know none near / in Memphis. Good Luck.

Kay Scott at Yellow Rose Labroadors has wonderful looking dogs with Master Hunter pedigrees.
And, I believe has a litter due by her MH (conformation bred) female to a Ch/MH male. may be right up your alley....
