Interested in any/all info available on these 2 past dogs owned by Larry and Anna Calvert. I am planning to give Mr. and Mrs. Calvert a call but would also like opinions/thoughts from you folks as well. Trainability, confirmation, health, size, intelligence, good nix with____?,positive and negative traits - are the things I'm most interested in.

Thanks in advance -

Travis

We have a young dog sired by Trip and he is wonderful. I would take another Trip pup without hesitation. I have seen, and run against Calverts dogs for years and they are all very nice. All have great style and desire.
From all that I have seen Trip throws a prominent curl in the tail and blocky head.
And I have not heard of or seen any genetic issues with Calverts Jazztime lines.

Jazztime lines cross well with Lean Mac...ie Patton, Cruise, Ford
Our young dog is out of a Lean Mac daughter bred to Trip.

I have a Ford daughter that also has Jazztime in her - fabulous dog! She has derby points and is getting ready to run the Qual. this spring. I would highly recommend this combination!

You may want to also consider their other dog Chance. I have a 8 month old pup out of (Chance x Auggie bitch) heavy on the Lean Mac line.

Right now he is with VanEngen and according to Jim "coming along very nice". He is all business, loves to work, wants to be the boss of the kennel and has classic looks. We are very happy with him.

Travis,

I have seen Chance on many occations. Chace is the real deal.

You only need to call the calverts and you will hear all you need to hear. They are two of the nicest people you will meet and they are just as honest. My dog is not a Jazztime dog, he is out of Tiger Mountain, but the first time my breeder and I saw Chance and met the Calverts, my breeder new he had to get that dog in his line.

Mallard (my dog) leaves for Montana at the end of the month to spend the next few months with the Calverts and my trainer. I have no doubt that he will be in the best of hands.

I would say, go to their ste and give them a call.

I purchased a Trip pup, he was 24 months old at the time. He's been with me since July '06.

I could not be happier with him! He's tall, well muscled, medium to large head, 74 lbs. If he has a fault, he is very thin of fur. He is also allergic to most everything in the world.

This dogs attitude is wonderful. He always makes an effort to work with you and do the right thing. He's focused, interested in his work, loves to go training and is doing very well. This past hunting season was his first and he did just fine.

I talked to Larry Calvert on the allergy issue. Trip did not have allergies. I talked to the owner of the bitch, and know her personally, and she states the bitch did not have allergy issues. Go figure. Just one of those things.
