Given all the discussion about judging, and what judges should or should not do, I thought it would be useful to find out who our judges are, and how often they judge

It has been my practice to judge twice a year. But, I find that I have three assignments per year for the next three years.

I am curious to see how often those who believe that it is appropriate to criticize judges on the internet or post videos of tests without the permission of the judges actually judge.

for those of you that judge : do you prefer to do so in your backyard/circuit or prefer to judge out of state

I have judged 88 licensed hunt tests, 1 licensed field trial, countless club trials, but I didn't vote because I do not find this comment entirely appropriate.

With HT's we are a bit more regional, but I have been fortunate to be asked to judge in 5 states and many different co-judges and found that very useful in my learning and growing as a judge. In fact I think in over 50 assignments I probably had the same co-judge 6 or 7 times. I need to look that up.

I try to accept no more then 2 trials a year and prefer to be someplace other then our circuit. I also have d judged many CKC trials over the years. When HT's first began I judged many of them, however I am no longer qualified.:)

My plan is always to only judge twice a year, but I end up judging at least 3 tests a year, sometimes 4. I prefer judging away from my area. I like setting up tests in areas I haven't seen or haven't seen very often.

Just started judging minor stakes. Judged twice last fall and will judge a couple times a year I guess.
Take all the video you want of me. If I mess up a call, I'd like to see the replay just to make sure your not just fos. And if you aren't fos, maybe I can learn from the mistake.
BTW, I don't think anyone is recording a test or trial to catch the judge in a mistake. I think they just want to see their own performance.

I entered 2 and thats what I would like to judge every year.
This year I think I'm judging 3 trials. And do have room for one more. It's a shame we see the same judges all the time.we need to get our younger guys and gals judging. The old darts are not going to be here for ever.

Makes no difference to me. I judged in Oregon last year and have just been envited to judge at another club in Oregan in June.

I also judge regularly in my own region and the two regions that border mine.

I am always asked who I want to judge with and I always tell those asking I will judge at least 1 time with anyone.

Judge here in Ontario will judge 2 working certificate test, 2 hunt tests and a minor stake at a field trial. 2 of these evens are literally in my own back yard so it cuts expenses for the clubs involved. Next year I will judge less and concentrate on my own dogs.
