I don't have sound on my computer at work. :( Kudos to the rescuers but how did the dog get in the middle of the lake? What was the owner doing? Or was this just someone who saw the dog in trouble and called the authorities?

I work for a professional Fire Dept. near Cincinnati, a couple of weeks ago we rescued a lady from a heavily involved house fire, not hardly a word mentioned via media coverage, a few days later rescued a stranded sheperd in a swollen flooded river, and was on National news. We love our dogs!

The company I work for owns a TV station in Oklahoma City. They had a stranded deer on the ice and the helicopter was taking live shots of it, much like this copter was doing with the dog.

The pilot got closer to the deer and noticed the rotor wash was actually pushing the deer, so he just angled the chopper and pushed him off the ice to the shore. Of course they got it all on tape and it made the National news. Pretty neat deal.

When the deer made it to the bank a deer hunter screached to a halt, jumped out of his pickup and shot it with a high powered rifle and fled the scene.

Just kidding.....

that was here in Denver. Dog was chasing geese when she fell thru. Owner started to walk out, realized she would fall thru too and called 911. Apparently dog was a little anxious initially over the odly dressed man in swim fins and mask, but realized he had friendly intentions. the geese all escaped...

Chris,

I'm not sure; but honestly I think it's unlikely. I have a very full programme this Summer, including a major house extension, and a garage to be built. I'm dog training in Devon for a week in April, taking a friend  to Paris in mid May, visiting NYC in early June and manning the NOBS stand at the CLA Game Fair in July. And the grouse shooting starts in August! (I have some picking up arranged for the 12th).

Do have a great time at Moira; Bill is a lovely bloke and puts his heart and soul into the Fair.

BTW did you know that Guinness is a specific against Malaria? No Irishman has contracted the disease in Ireland for over a hundred years. Keep supping.

Regards
Eug
