Got a 6mo English Labrador who has been introduced to live birds three times now.
  • First time we was teething and at a trainers facility, which was very distracting - total bust.
  • Second time was after losing all his teeth, much better response to bird - chasing, tackling, retrieving.
  • Third time sat and watched the bird for way too long before chasing - but would chase.
What's up with the delay? Laziness or just immaturity? Would setting up a competitive scenario with another dog help? Any other suggestions?

I plan on keeping him on live-birds as long as I can find them.
